INFO FROM SERVICE PARK (after SS10)
Car #33 E. Evans – S. Martin (Toyota Yaris WRC): I am satysfied because I am close to Suninen and I can fight for the fourth position. I was hoping to do better, I was too cautious, I have to push more this afternoon to catch him
Car #17 S. Ogier – J. Ingrassia (Toyota Yaris WRC): The battle is not really happening we are fighting pretty hard behind Dani Sordo. We had two times good stages in the first time of the loop but the other one was a bit more difficult for me so not so good I had a beter drive on the second run but unfortunately the engine stalled in one hairpin and I lost about 4 seconds that in such an intense fight is not good but it is still very close so we keep pushing. It is enjoyable because when you are not fighting for anything it is hard to get a pleasure but in this moment I don’t think I focus on driving as fast as we can. With Neuville we are very close.
Car #8 O. Tänak – M. Järveoja (Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC): It was ok, so far so good, this morning we have done everything we could. Visibility with low sun was difficult in some parts but not so bad.
Car #11 T. Neuville – N. Gilsoul (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC): I don’t know what the right tyre choice could have been.We have a bit more tyre ware on the two wheels. I played it safe maybe I was struggling a bit in the first two stages expecially when the grip was low second spare wheel is always a little of an handicap. But I have to say that our car as well with two wheels bahaves quite well but unfortunately there was more weight and every straight line and exit corner you loose a little bit so in the end I expected to be faster but we got a really good push on the repeated stages on the second pass. It worked pretty well we were the fastest in the morning loop we closed in the gat in P1 so we are in P2 now and Ogier is behind a bit further than this morning so we must be please with that. I have the knowledge that he will push hard this afternoon but he has it too and if you remember well a couple of years ago we were faster and hopefully this year we can repeat that, lets say that the rally is still long, repeated stages this afternoon the ones from yesterdayand tricky day for tomorrow.
Andrea Adamo, Hyundai Team Director: It looks ok but it is not finished I remember what happened in Turkey so well. This morning with Neuville we dedided to take six tyres of course now it is easy to say that it would have been better five, but this morning things looked different, anyhow it is not too bad he cought up now we are first and second and honestly Chapoux to Dani so far he did everything so well he is very focused convinced , sadly Ott started first cleaning the road even if he did interesting times. We always manage our strategies to get our objective, manufacture chanmpionship is our main objective. We will see what tomorrow will bring and whathever it will be I will do. Tomorrow whathever it will be it will be difficult to tell Dani to go slow.
Car #3 T. Suninen – J. Lehtinen (Ford Fiesta WRC): We had a few problems with the central diffs so my hand brake was working also for the front wheels so I could not protect the car in the hairpins once I had to reverse. Evans and the podium are not too far away of course we have to have good stages no mistakes to catch them and be will do our best. Yes Friday morning stages were great.
Richard Millener, M-Sport Ford Team Principal: About Greensmith it looks like a stone or something took the altenating belt off, they managed to change the belt but battery too flat to start the car. Suninen was strugling with the hand brake which affected the car set-up I think even more frustratingly he found a solution on the last stage but he was still a bit away, yes we dropped out the contention and it will be very difficult to be back.
Car #18 T. Katsuta – D. Barritt (Toyota Yaris WRC): Very difficult stages after yesterday’s problems we are trying to do well. The important part is to find a good line and a good rhythm, but it’s not easy. It’s all in the process of learning.
Car #6 D. Sordo – C. Del Barrio (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC): Tyre choice is important this afternoon since the temperatures are higher, even if medium tyres were the best choice. It was a good morning, unfortunately I lost some time because of a cow on the first run of the Monte Lerno stage. In general, I have 30 seconds of advantage but I have to be careful.
Car #7 P.L. Loubet – V. Landais (Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC): Very difficult morning we went off in a very very fast section we lost our aereodinamic part on the right of the car after that it was impossible to drive the car so I struggled a lot but we are here and this is important. We lost 50% of our air wings with this car is crazy and changes everything.
Car #23 P. Tidemand – P. Barth (Skoda Fabia Evo): It’s my first time here in Sardinia, I am doing well and leading WRC2. With Toksport team we have a race by race agreement so, despite I am also leading the championship, I still don’t know which will be my next rally.
Car #48 S.Pajari – M. Salminen (Ford Fiesta Rally4): (broken driveshaft, stopped in SS7)
